FAQs

How long are the workshops?

The workshop sessions are between 45 minutes and an hour long.

What happens during the workshops?

Each workshop will be run by a team of five professional musicians – who are also experienced teachers and can adapt to meet the children’s needs.

We aim to be as interactive as possible, so that pupils can join in with exploring instruments, sound and music!

Each type of workshop covers different topics, but all will include exciting live musical performances, with a cross curricular approach. Topics can include the science of sound waves, how different instruments create sound and musical pitch; alongside guiding and supporting pupils’ understanding of pieces of music.

What age group are the workshops for?

The topics and level of understanding required for these are best suited for Key Stage 2 pupils.

How many children can join in?

We provide workshops for groups of a class or two, through to the whole school – just let us know how many pupils to expect when you book, so that we can come prepared with enough materials for everyone to join in!

How much do the workshops cost?

The cost for each workshop is £235, which will be payable once the workshop date is confirmed.

Do the workshops follow COVID-19 guidance?

Yes! All our staff are taking regular lateral flow tests. As experienced teachers, they work regularly in schools across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and are confident following COVID-19 safety procedures.

Is there anything else we need to provide?

We’ll need to borrow five chairs and a room with enough space for five musicians, and to allow for social distancing.
